I photograph to see and understand and to let others see and understand.

My approach to photography is primarily explorative with a detailed look for narratives. When I work, I work on an intuitive level and my curiosity in life is essentially what drives my practice. Originating from a fascination with the way in which we as humans perceive the world: how our bodies are where our perception of the world arises. Long hikes are used as a method to silence the mind so only the sensuous perception remain. The fascination is reflected in the series, which often revolve around the connection between human and nature, changeability and the story of places.

In a contemporary visual culture that competes to shout the loudest and provoke the most, the provocation in these photographs lies only in their persistent insistence on the capacity for observation. Left is visual poems of curiosity and contemplation.

I don’t shoot photographs; with the camera I paint a mood.
